Air:

The main airports servicing the area are:-

Almería - 5 minutes from Almería city, 15 minutes from Roquetas de Mar and 55 minutes from Mojácar

Alicante - 2 Hours north of Mojácar

Murcia - 1 hour north of Mojácar

Flight information for all these airports can be found here.

Car:

Travel by car in and around Almería province is both easy and inexpensive. Fuel is much cheaper than the UK and the roads are quiet and (generally) toll free. Parking in most places is free also.

Taxi:

Taxis, again, are more prolific around the city and the main resorts. However any bar or cafe will usually have the telephone number of a local taxi service.

Bus / Coach:

Except around Almería city and the major resorts local bus services are very limited. There are, however, good long distance bus routes from most large villages and towns. These services are fairly infrequent so you would be advised to check return journeys before you set out. You should be able to find information from Alsa or Baraza by following the relevant link.

Rail:

Spain has a modern rail network with some of the latest high speed trains. However the service in Almería province is limited to the city and the routes springing from it. You can get to all the major cities of Spain and beyond. Follow this link to RENFE for timetables and the very reasonable prices.

Ferry:

For the more adventurous traveller, ferries run from Almería port to Mellila and Nador in Morroco and Ghazaouet in Algeria. More information can be found here.
